La Carrera pan Americana
This story was shot for Fortune Magazine and Architectural Digest in 1999. It is one of the greatest motosport adventures in the world.
In both stories I was teamed to drive the race as a competitor with my partner and co-driver Sue Zesiger in a vintage race car.
The race begins in southern Mexico on the Guatamalan border and flies at breakneck speed through the rugged Mexican landscape to finish on the border with Texas.
The Carrera ia a major source of pride fo the Mexican and "pilotos" (drivers) are treated like royalty at every village in route.
I love this story and would shoot it again in a heart beat. |
